If you want to add partner you have a choice to add someone that already exist inn the family tree. Then lets say my distant cousin married someone, and that person turns out to be another distant cousin of mine from another great grandpa. How can i connect between the two, do i have to delete my cousin partner then add it again after adding the related relationship?

Sooo, right now I am in a rabbit hole creating a large family tree about various nobles throughout the ages and consider sharing it with a few friends. As you could guess, basically everyone on this family tree is deceased (because of course Edward the Confessor didn't live to be a thousand years old). When I try to share the family tree (clicking on the "Share" button while having selected i. e. Edward the Confessor), the following message appears:

You cannot share the family with Edward who is marked as no longer living. Please try clicking someone else on the tree.

Well, I tried, and learnt that I can only share the family tree when clicking on a person who is currently alive (which are ... approximately ten people in this tree, as I like the middle ages). Of course, I can share this way (and I can mark a dead person as alive, copy their link via "Share" button, share it with my friends and set the desired person as deceased again) but I am curious if there is any option that allows me to share directly from a deceased person's box?

My family tree showing only direct ancestors contains (so far) 47 individuals via 4x grandparents. Three of the ancestor lines are quite neatly arranged, but the fourth has the boxes staggered out to one side.

I would like to arrange this fourth line the same way the other three are arranged so as to be able to print them all on one page. Apart from which it looks very untidy as it is now. I could capture the graphic, then use Photoshop to move the stray elements into position, but doing it within the family tree software would be a lot easier; especially as this would have to be re-done each time I add new elements.

Is it possible to arrange this?

Print preview showing blank white page?

I noticed today that when I clicked on print preview, I only saw a blank page. I have over 40k people on my tree, so my guess is it has something to do with that. This problem is only when I am in partial mode with more than 25 gens displayed. It was working perfectly fine yesterday, so I am wondering what changed. Thanks for the help!

Having read the Terms and Data Policies of Family Echo, I find no answer to the privacy of trees and information within them. Are trees entirely private? Can Family Echo read them and their contents? Are the trees encrypted?

This is a really good site, by far the best family tree site I have been able to find, but as someone who cares greatly about privacy and data security, especially considering the very personal nature and sensitivity of data on a site like this, I would like to know how my data is handled and secured and who has access to it, if anyone other than myself and those I invite.

As you can see from the screenshot, people'snames are temporarily replaced with their generation number and their birth order, ex: 1A,1B, etc. and all of the numbered generations are supposed to be in line with each other but for some reason they're not. I check mainly the 4A's and it's bothering me that they're not all in the same line. Is there any fix to this?

I do not know how many people would find this useful, but more ways to sort our trees would be wonderful.

I mostly use trees for world-building/storytelling purposes, and having the option to sort various trees into folders or something similar would be SO much more convenient than the current setup, where a user's trees are all listed together and can only be sorted by the date they were added to the site.

Im trying to reset part of my character family tree and two of them have ended up glitched, and I need to delete one to get to the other and it won't let me do either. (It's showing the delete button on the first and not on the second because it wont let me split the tree of course)

Edit: I found a fix

I downloaded the .ged file and removed the two members in the code, then imported the file to make a new family tree. Kinda clunky but it worked, hope this might be helpful for someone else
