How can I get only part of an existing family to start a new family

Question 1

I have a huge family tree, involving many members & their parents & grandparent

I am interested in only part of that family to start my side of the family.

How can I import only the branch I am interested in?

If you have the GEDCOM file for the entire tree, there are utilities that let you split a GEDCOM file. There is no built in ability to do this in Family Echo
