I have two people on my tree named Remus George Whittinghill and Remus Whittinghill. I typed in "remus g" and even though there was a "G" it still had Remus Whittinghill in the search query. Please advise.

This behaviour is by design.

Try 'remus geo'.  Because Wittinghill contains a 'g' the other person was also shown.
By the way, typing (part of) a year can be u
seful too!
