McAfee Spam Pop Up

Question

Is anyone else getting the McAfee Spam while working within Family Echo.  From everything I have search, this is SPAM and is not a legitimate scan.  I have not clicked on any of the links but it happens every single time I am in Family Echo and to get rid of it I have to close my browser and start over.  I have googled this and was told to reset my browser, which I did but the problem still persists.  I have about 30 seconds to work on a family tree before the McAfee Pop Up hits and then I have to shut down the system.

Thanks for reporting this. We have asked for this ad to be blocked at our ad network partner. For anyone else reading this, whenever reporting a bad ad, it's always helpful to include a screenshot which includes the URL of the page that ad redirects to.

Hey @gidgreen, just letting you know that the described behavior is still occurring. It's completely understandable to show ads on the site, but actually redirecting to a different page is really really distracting for the users.

Thanks for the update. Here's the story: The outfit behind this ad has switched its URL a couple of times, after being blocked by us. It's a rogue ad since redirects should never happen, and I'm sure it's appearing on many sites, not just ours. So I need to know the URL that you're being directed to, otherwise I can't get the ad blocked again. The only other option I have is to entirely switch off ads for the site!

It just happened to me too. I didn't get a screenshot, but the url was "shieldforge. it . com/ avs/ en/ mob-939/ global-bb . php"

I have also experienced this problem! It's super annoying. To get rid of it I just pressed the back arrow for the browser (Although it might not be on all browsers for some reason) and even then it was just a temporary fix. What worked was installing an ad blocker on my computer. It is curious to me how it only happened on my computer and not my other devices. I have determined it's just a really quite annoying ad pop-up.
