I entered a second marriage after the first. I don't have any dates. So the second marriage (and the offspring) appear on the left of the first marriage, whereas it would make more sense if they appeared second.

You should be able to change this by setting the current partner to the one you want displayed first. Click on the person with two marriages, then 'Change or delete', 'Change partners', then set the partner as appropriate. Of course this only makes sense if the second marriage is no longer an active marriage between living people.
