This (too much blank space while there also being lots of long confusing lines) is a common issue when printing, and hopefully Family Echo will do something to fix it at some point. However, reasons of space and convenience of view dictate having non-overlapping lines, which requires more space. At present, short of reducing the size of your printout, there isn't much you can do about it.
