Can i separate my tree to maximise printing to show my mother's side only?

Can i 'cut' half of my tree (dad's side) and save it separately, as i'd like to print my mum's side for a family party, but don't want to lose all the work i've done on my dad's side?

I believe the tree shows the biological/direct family mainly, so you could click on your mother so that your father showed up, but not all of his family.
