Is sharing with permission to edit restricted?

I have shared the file, checking the permission to edit box. The people with whom I have shared can only edit their own information. Is it not possible for them to help update the entire file?

Did they create their own account at Family Echo? They must do that and sign in to edit more than their own entry.
