It will not allow you to delete the mother if she is joining two parts of the family tree together, probably the sibling and the rest of the family. You need to delete accidental mistakes in a way that won't split the family tree, ie. delete the children/ grandchildren first, then partners and finally the individual person. Hope this has helped.
