why is there Duplicate written on above the name

i have family who have married distant cousins and when i create the relationship of parter it shows as duplcate above the names any idea why ?/?

Because if you partener two people that are already on the tree, there will be two copies, one for one partener, and one for the other partener.

I'm not good at explaining things so i hope this is good enough.
