You need to focus on one side first, going to your dad's great great great grandparents and then work downwards to your mum's family. Then, go to your father, select "add partner" and then click "partner with person already on the tree and find yoru mum.
Alternatively, you could use "change or delete" and "change parents" to "choose new parents from the family tree", so that the lines match up.
