How do I modify and save my tree without losing the original version?

I want to do a long and short version of my tree, saving both versions seperately. Normally I would use a "save as" button and give the modified one a different name. I don't see a "save as" command. Is there another way to do this?

You can export your tree as a GEDCOM file, then create a new tree. You can import the saved GEDCOM file into that tree and delete out the parts you don't want.

How do I export/import a GEDCOM file to create a new tree that includes the pictures from the original tree?
