there is a program https://sourceforge.net/projects/excel2ged/ that you can download. It opens in excel. You would have to manually combine your people, but then it will create the gedcom file that you can import back in family echo.
There's also a cool program http://www.drawmyfamilytree.co.uk/gedcom_viewer.php that takes the gedcom file and converts it into a rich looking text document. Check it out.
