gedcom downloaded went OK but no data showing anywhere.

My gedcom downloaded well but no data showing anywhere.  What do I do if it is too large a file?

Need to transfer my large file to a laptop so I can work on it away from my dedicated PC tower.

Family Tree Maker was the software I used so far as well as MyHeritage on-line (with limited data)
