I use this primarily for my Sims games, and in one of them, there are siblings that have all been adopted into different families and yet still consider one another siblings. Is there any way to accurately depict this on the tree without "this would split the tree in two"? A third parent would also be a nice option, especially in modern society where there are 3 parent households.

You could make multiple family trees, and type in some of their bio notes:

"@@PERSON1@@ is adopted in/out by @@PERSON2@@."

You can change it however you like.
