If you have birthplace information that Google can map to a location, you could do this by exporting your family tree as a CSV file. Open it in a spreadsheet and parse the Birthplace (or Address) into the component postal address pieces. Then use any of the many services that will turn location data into a map. Here's one tutorial on how do do that with Google Maps.

I stumbled across this question and thought I’d chime in. I’ve been working on a project called YourRoots Map that does something similar—it turns your family tree into an interactive global map based on birthplaces. It’s still in beta, so I’d really appreciate any feedback if you get a chance to try it out!
