I am not able to see a lot of the family tree due to the bottom panel (birth, deaths etc)

Question

there is only a small amount of my family tree visible now.  How do i get back to seeing the full tree or at least most?  i have set maximum children after pressing on oldest member, but still hasn't helped me.  Thank you.

I'm not totally sure I understand you problem, but it sounds like the options dialog is blocking you view of the tree.  If this is the case you can use the show/hide options function next to the printer icon to show or hide this dialog.
