Generally and printouts will be at least three generations (one gen of parents and one gen of children).  The only time you might get a two generation print is by selecting someone fron the very top or bottom of the tree.

The print function creates a pdf file that you could edit with a graphics editor or draw program (like MS or Libra office draw) to erase the unwanted generation.
