I would like to print both sets of parents but it will only print either the mothers or fathers parents

The people selected to be printed depend on which person is selected by the mouse at the time of printing. As far as I can tell from your question, your problem should be fixed if you select one of the children of the couple in question, so that the family branches out conventionally (i.e. two parents, four grandparents, etc.).

You can try selecting the child of the parents and make sure the view settings at the bottom are at like 15 relatives.
